Can these be dated by the tang stamp?

They don't!! The prices on that website are double or triple what they will bring in reality.
Some of those have never sold in 5 years. If you can't sell a Latama in a few hours it's either a POS
or the price is all wrong.

The worst part is the garage sale guys who find a junky Latama and google that site think the junky one they found is worth $2K.
Good luck trying to convince them it's only worth $250. Many collectors willing to pay market value for prices to these guys never get the knife b/c these garage sale guys google that website and think they have a diamond.

I'll bet yours is worth $750 give or take $50.

Can these be dated by the tang stamp?

It's tircky.

There are roughly 8 different Latama stamps. This image is not 100% accurate, it's just one I put together of knives I own
and truth be told we will never know for sure but with the picture will give a great idea of when they appeared. I had one or two
other stamps but I didn't have them at the time I made this image.

The Latama in script over Italy block was about the 3 or 4 one used.
The box stamp was a bit later, about the 7th one used.
