The knife is an aftermarket rehandle in my opinion. It should have a pommel (either cap style or birdshead), and finger grooves. Maybe even a parts knife from an older 171UH that was returned and sold in the closing. Poor lighting makes the sheath a tough call.

MM & Bill nailed it! ::tu::
15OT sheath & after market handle & bad pics! :lol:

It sold for more than I would have paid for it. A quick check of completed sales for the ones made in the USA, shows a range of about $40 used to $135 MIB.

I collect these but this one was overpriced.When I emailed the seller for the number it was 55000 making this a mid production rehandle and when I questioned the cracks in the handles he said it was made that way to simulate Ivory handled knives.Arnold

::doh::

Hi Arnold. If anyone knows and likes these it is you, my man. ::nod:: ::tu::
I should've known that's what it was intended to be, by the seller's description... ::dang::
Here I am, thinking it was just stag, lacking much figure, sloppily rehandled, causing cracks around the pins. Who knew. ::shrug::

Stay well,

Bill
