Thank you Jerry for the Friday song! George Jones is the greatest. By the way, KOKEFM.com has a version of the song that they will play just after 7AM on Fridays. Check it out.

Morning Scott, and congrats to your brother on his big buck! I spent the entire day in the woods yesterday - it is the peak rut time here - one real big buck went down in my Edgecombe County club (not by me) but I saw lots of deer and lots of breeding activity - it was one of those magical days in the woods (I did drop a coyote). I should be out there this morning, but my hunting partner can't make it and I was beat last night and wanted to sleep in (that doesn't even sound like me!) OH

Mornin' guys and gals! I kinda slept in this morning myself. Have a meeting of fellow collectors/accumulators today. We meet once a month for show and tell at a BBQ joint nearby.
Today, one of the other members is picking me up in his restored Edsel. I'll try to get a photo or two for posting.
Hope all have a great day. ::tu:: ::tu::

Mornin' guys.
I slept in till 5 myself.
5-1/2 hours in bed and I was too sore to stay there any longer.

If it quits raining this afternoon I hope to get outside and get a closer look at my "new" pickup, ('77 Chevy).

Y'all have a good day,

Mumble, grumble, fudge and frogs. Came down with a cold yesterday. Thanks to NyQuil I just got up. I hate being sick but then is there anyone who enjoys it?

From my death bed, here's your Saturday song.

me too Jerry. I blame my daughter - getting a cold and then coming home to spread her germs.
I'm fighting through it though. Me and the little lady going to the gun range today.
.303 Enfield, .30-06 Remington, and an old M1917 are gonna make a lotta noise today.
Wifey is just gonna stick with her little .38 this time. ::tu::

Morning all. Daylight Savings Time ends today so if you haven't already done it, don't forget to turn your clocks back.

Some don't care for Kris Kristofferson but his version of "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is one of my all time favorites.

Morning Jerry - really been enjoying all the "daily theme" music posts you have been making - you have good taste in music (and knives)! OH

PS I am much more familiar with the Johnny Cash rendition of "Sunday Morning Coming Down", but that K.K. version is pretty good too.

Morning Colonel.

Everybody and his brother recorded that song but it was written by Kris Kristofferson and first recorded by Ray Stevens in 1969. Nothing against the Man in Black, I just like the K.K. version best.

Of course Ray Stevens did it VERY well. Known mostly for his comedy songs, I think we all tend to forget that Ray Stevens can do some singin'.

Jerry I have always enjoyed Ray Stevens funny songs, like Ahab the Arab and the Mississippi Squirrel Revival. In 2003, deployed to OIF, you would hear joking references to Ahab the Arab - the older guys would all laugh while the younger guys would have a puzzled look on their face - seems old Ray is fading from Pop Culture memory - but he was funny as hell (as was his southern counter part, Jerry Clower). Still enjoying your musical posts - thanks, Bruce

I am in agreement with Jerry. I like the Kristopherson version. I also dislke him and my objection is his politics. He is a pinko. I remember him singing for the Sandinistas in Nicarauga.
Ah well, my 1st cup is poured and cooling. I'll hit the head, shower and get ready for church in just a few.
There was some great football yesterday, in case anyone missed it! My Horns won! ND won in triple OT. Not that I am a Notre Dame fan but it was a great come from behind victory. 'Bama also won in a close one and had to come from behind to do it.

Mornin' Fellas ::tu::

Yeah, "Ray Stephens" Harry Ragsdale is from a little community about 5 miles from where I grew up, one of his cousins lived next door to us. Rays music and Lewis Grizzard books were always around our house ::tu:: Both are hilarious in their own right.

Harry Ray Ragsdale. I'll be darned. That's the second time today I've learned something new and it's barely 0700.

Thanks Cutty.

Good morning guys.
I woke up early at 5 AM & decided to get up. Turned on my PC and saw it was really 4 AM ::dang:: ::dang:: ::dang:: ::dang::

I agree Ray, the football was good yesterday! ::tu:: The Ducks and Beavers both won their games.
I wonder if the Ducks will finally move up in the BCS rankings? Stupid computers!

In 3 or 4 hours I will get a shower and get ready for church. My wife's knee is well enough from the surgery to be able to go to church today. Lookin' forward to going!

Ya'll have a good Sunday.
Pray for the Republic, she certainly needs it!
