Turn-around time on Ebay?

Turn-around time on Ebay?
Not sure if I'm being hasty here or not. Bought a Boker Pen knife #240 on Dec 13 and have yet to receive it. Seller seems to be evading me and has yet to even ship it. Claims a death in the family for the last two and a half weeks. Can/should I rescind my offer? Any ideas? Curious as to what others think--especially when a new knife is on the horizon... Posted it here cause it kind of has to do with a pocket knife. Thanks for any input.

If you paid by paypal you should probably have recieved it by now. If you sent a check maybe not.
You can get the phone number and contact info from Ebay. contact info link
If that doesen't resolve it you can follow these steps from Ebay to report the item not recieved. Buyers protection
Sometimes delays are unavoidable, but there is a limit.

Depends on how you paid for it and how quickly. Although I do beleive that enough time has elasped. I like to see the transaction complete with in one to two weeks max.

I like to have my transactions on Ebay completed fast. Preferrably in a week so I always use PayPal. Often paying the same day the auction ends.
Now if you sent a check, it would take probably 3 days to get to the seller, that would be say Saturday Dec. 17th. Say the person took it to the bank on Monday Dec. 19th and it takes 3-4 days to clear. So lets say the seller put your knife in the mail Friday Dec. 23rd and he was cheap and mailed it standard mail. If this is the case you should probably have the knife by Friday, Jan. 6th. This should be the latest in my opinion as I'm taking into account the worst case senerio.
As a former postal clerk I know it doesn't usually take very long for a standard package to arrive at it's destination. Now that Christmas is over it should be arriving soon.
Don't you just love those sellers that charge $5.00 - $6.00 dollars shipping when they can probably send it for less than $4 Priority Mail. I always figure in shipping when I bid on a knife.

Thanks for all the input! I greatly appreciate it. I used paypal and paid for it when transaction ended. I ended up filing a complaint with paypal against this person for not having sent it and this situtation has been fixed. My money was refunded in full by the seller and am taking my business elsewhere! Thanks again. I thought at first I was just being too anxious!
