Estate sale need opinions

There is an estate sale starting on Thursday in my area and I was going to see if any of the great experts that are more knowledgeable than I could look at this picture and tell me if and what some of these might be and which ones to try and get.

No, seriously,I agree with Ray. In the stated pic condition of the knives, clean-up at the auction then clean up the knives and ya might be pleasantly surprized.
They shouldn't go for too much as a lot purchase. Good luck,

Well the thing about the way they do it is they will be priced individually and its who gets to them first so I was kind of wanting to try to figure one or two to shoot for if there was a mad rush for the knife table you just never know.

Not having knife in hand and with the pic you've posted,the very top left and right caught my eye r/t the possible stag handles,(look more derlin) and the workmanship of the sheath.Did ya get a chance to look at what was tang stamped?

Shame you can't see what's in those folding knife sheaths. Anyway, I'd say the top three fixed blades and that big hunter with the green bolsters. Don't blame me if you step in a pile and it ain't roses.

I havent gotten to see anything yet it starts tomorrow at 2 so Iam going to get there early and no blame here I just wanted to see if anybody might see something I didnt stag handles caught mu eye too what would make that knife turn green and Iam assuming its probably cleanable but whatever I get I will let yall know how it turns out and thanks for the input.

That hunter could be a Schrade.

The two with the aluminum butts look like Theatre knives to me. The others, who knows???

8)don't worry to much about the verdi-gris(greening) a little hoppes gun oil and off it comes, maybe you can use the greening to your advantage, ie: damage?

The folder is a Schrade Old Timer 125OT, 225 or 25OT.
Definitely an old timer. If the blades are good and no problems other than the green stuff, (verdigris), then it is easily worth $25+ depending on which model it is.

The top right knife in the sheath looks like a Camillus hunting knife, or perhaps a Colonial, or other brand. I would buy it if is a Camillus or Colonial with bone handles. Hard to tell what the handles are in the pic.

The top left knife could be an Uncle Henry 171UH, but can’t tell for sure. If it is a 171 it is probably an easy $50 to $100 knife depending on condition.


I see one folder and 3 folder sheaths. Are the sheaths empty or are there knives in them?

The 2 striped handle knives are likely theater knives. I would not hazard a guess at the value, as I don’t collect them. The other red handle knife is probably a theater knife too.

Thats great helps me out alot I think shoot for the non theater knives first and then if their still there maybe go for em if their priced right because if there is a mad rush for the knife table I want to have a game plan down rather than having to settle for leftovers so thanks for your help and opinions this is a great sight Iam glad I found it and maybe in the coming days I can be more of a contributor than a taker.

Well went to the sale and I was the 16th in line and #1 was a knifer and a fellow aapker and I got what he left so here are the pics but I did find out that the big knife was a Schrade not sure what model and he had it but I found out he changed his mind and I didnt know it but they wanted 60.00 for it and the theater knives he said he never saw them so somebody got to cherry pick them before we got in there so Im going to have a talk with the lady that runs ibut all in all not a terrible day plus I picked up some other items,and made a connection with the other gentleman and fellow aapker.The 2 bladed knife is ofcourse an old timer 250T and the fixed blade is a Colonial and the green stuff did come right off almost looked like some kind of coating to protect it but I dont know but that green stuff probably made others pass I paid 10 on one and 8 on the other so once thanks for everybodies help and yall be blessed in Jesus Name!!!

Meant to get back to you on this earlier. I'm pretty sure the green stuff you observed on the big hunter is what is called verdgris.
That is a natural patina that forms on copper, brass or bronze that is exposed to air or salt water. As I recall, the chemistry of it makes it quite poisoness.
