Don't recall seeing this thread until now........

Fairly simple: Royal is my last name. Way back when, my VFD call # was 14. At the time I signed up on fleabay, royal14 was taken, so I threw in the dubble-ought......

Hence royal0014

......and the posting in color is just for s..ts and giggles ::sotb::

Ahh, some mystery unraveled. I read all 16 pages...

My user name belonged to Dad who passed away on January 1 of this year. It was his knifing name on the net to bolster our collection and check email. Seemed a fitting tribute to use his username in the continued knife quest. A great man. He sure would have liked you all.

Orgin of the name is ZP4 = the Navy LTA (Lighter than air) Blimp squadron he was assigned to at Weeksville N.A.F base in North Carolina. He was in from 48' to 52' when he was Honarably Discharged. They used the blimps to look for enemy submarines off the East Coast and the moonshine operations in the hills around those parts. Pretty interesting stuff in my opinion. He was an aircraft mechanic.

JA = Shared first and last name initials. We both were named the same.

Therefore, ZP4JA. Probably not taken on other sites as it is not a common username, but this username is reserved for knifing only for me...

Regards, Jerry

Yes Sir Johhny, it is. Hope life is well for you.

Your username was obvious to me, Being a punk since 78' at 14 years old in Orange County, CA. Seen alot of bands in those days that are now famous and lots of fights with jocks in high school. I have some stories to tell on that. Still like some of the music but had to grow out of it aliitle to be a family man now. Still have the memories though...

I picked up the Wazoo handle when I was 10 years old, 50 years ago. My last name is a long Polish diddy that everyone couldn't pronounce so they started calling me Watuski. Then it was shortened to Wazoo. Later on I changed the spelling to Wazu so I could get bumper stickers and t-shirts from WAZU radio in Ohio. I actually had the Wazoo handle before Frank Zappa and the Mothers of invention made the Grand Wazoo album 8)

Easy Goer was a well known thoroughbred race horse who had some big time battles with another thoroughbred named Sunday Silence. This was back in the late 80's. I liked the name so much, I kind of adopted it. It also is a term a thoroughbred trainer uses to describe a horse that has a smooth, easy gait.

Yes Sir JerryD, I did see those links. Very interesting indeed. Who would have thought we would still be using LTA ships in our military in the 50s'. If my Dad had not been part of the squadron, I probably would have never known. They were obviously effective at the time. Regards, Jerry

While I am not a practitioner of any martial art I do like to watch MMA and submission fighting. The jujigatame is one of my favorite holds and when I was signing up for a forum some years ago it was the first thing that popped into my head when I had to choose a username. Figured chances were good it was not already in use.
