Jerry I've never seen a shield just like the one you've posted above. Do you know what kind of knife is it on ?

The auction listing said it's a Marshall Wells. There's a thread on the knife. There seems to be some question how 'original' it is.

This is the auction.

Another eBay find, this shield is on a Bulldog. I believe the listing said "Bulldog 1st Generation Stag Copperhead"

That shield is put on the old cokebottle folding hunters.
Found on new york knives, hibbard spencer & barletts,,chippaway cutlery and prob. A few more brands that i've nevet seen. The marshall wells is a cobbled up piece of junk.

Those two are bad boys. Like 'em a lot. Even the dog likes 'em.

I'm with you, I love that mule shield. I used to think if I ever got to move to the country, I'd like to have a team of red mules. Too late now Lewis.

I've owned a few mules. l rode them coon or squirrel hunting for years. I sold my last one about a month ago.
The one i had before him died of old age. I had s few horses too. Infact i still have a nice horse now.
But i couldnt ever put the trust in a horse than i could a mule. Most mules wont do nothing that might hurt themselvrs,, which tends to keep the rider more safe. I've had some horses that would walk off in a hole just to see how deep it was. Lol

This is on a Case single blade, (like a hunter) that Robert posted. I thought if it had a flat bottom, it would look exactly like a Bishop chess piece.

Here is a cool shield I cut out of a nickel and hand inlet. Turned out pretty cool. Have seen few knives with this kind of shield.

Here's a few of mine...Schrade, Imperial, and IXL GW

I'm a suspicious newbie on the Imperial (DE shield)...the outside of the knife looks like it has been through the wringer, and the blades look completely new (they are stamped Diamond Edge 851 DE, with a tang stamp of 'stainless, Imperial, Prov. USA). Subject of a future post when I get around to it.
