Help Dating a Case 6392

I have my Grandpas 6392 he carved gunstocks with. It needs a lil TLC.
Can nyone tell me what year it is, what the scales are called and what shield it would've had.

1965-1969 . pretty bone handles, maybe red bone. i'll find a pic of the shield or someone else will throw it on. what a great knife to hold on to.

that's a beauty of an old knife, with some history. As far as dates and shields, what the other guys said.
