Schrde Walden

Post by Dave O »

My Cousin gave me this Schrade Today. It is in need of attention, but I was wondering if it were desireable as a collector piece? I know nothing about old Schrades. I could spend a lot of time on it and dress it up as a user, but just thought it may spark some interest.

Knice knife!! ::tu:: Very thoughtful gift.

Probably could fetch $20.00 on eBay. Maybe more.

If this knife could only talk..........

Ok, then...I am going to throw the Dremel to it! I will be a thing of ugly by the time i am finished! I cannot seem to drive the pin out of the pommel to remove the damaged leather slabs.

There is a recent thread about removing the pommel/leather from that type knife. Maybe someone remembers and can link it....

No, No, not the dreaded dremel....sock the old Kroil to the blade for a few days of soaking, then stand the handle in a glass of neatsfoot oil for 2 or 3 days, then lightly buff the handle & see what happens first, doesn't look that damaged from here. Be sure & give us another pic when you got it cleaned up. Saving an old knife is like rescueing a dog from the pound.
