Dating Robt Klaas Kissing Crane knives

Post by mudsquirrel58 »

Does anyone know how to date robt klaas kc knives by shields?
I just bought a stag-handled split spring whittler (#1442). The shield is a silver german anchor type with the crane stamp in it (no red). Tang stamp on main clip blade is robt klaas with solingen underneath. Maybe some has a book that they could suggest that has a little history of tang stamps or shield types.
Thanks

Without Roman numerals, or a KC prefix
your knife dates from 1995-2004.
I'm guessing the red was worn off if the shield is like this.....

Not sure if you’re asking how to take pics (that’s what you said), or if you meant how do you post pics? If you’re asking how to take them, I assume maybe you don’t have a phone with a built-in camera? Need to know more about what you have available to take pictures.

If you’re asking how to position the knife to photograph it, just scroll up to the second post in this thread. There’s a pretty good example of a knife picture.

If you’re asking how to post your picture, go here viewforum.php?f=98 and scroll down until you find the directions for your device (Android, iPad, etc.)

Hope one of those helps. And welcome to AAPK. ::tu::
