I don't know what rock I've been under but I'm sure glad I crawled out long enough to find this one.

Is it any wonder Bob Wills is still the king? I don't think y'all will mind doubling up on this one.

You're hitting them outta the ballpark today, Jerry. ::tu::

Here's one of my favorites....Steel Guitar Rag. My dad used to drag his steel guitar out every once in a while and play this when I was a kid. I had the opening riff as my cell phone ring tone a few years ago.

One of the few songs I know all the words to. Larry Gatlin said they meant no disrespect by this song, it was meant as a comment on the underbelly of Nashville society.

Not sure if you guys have Dish but Alison Krauss and Union Station are on AXS channel 131 several times over the next few days. AXS might be available on other providers too. She has an awesome voice, 1 hour with no commercials! ::ds::

Edit: T.J. I'm still having an issue with my Internet Explorer and can't see or play the YouTube videos unless I sign on to AAPK using Google Chrome, SO, I didn't know you had posted up my main man Hoyt Axton. THANK YOU!! He's one of my top five favorites.

Now back to your regularly scheduled post.

Well, a guitar's fine and a banjo's lively but you can't have good old time country style music without a steel guitar and a fiddle.

I don't believe Roger Miller's made very many appearances in this thread. He did some goofy songs (You Can't Rollerskate In A Buffalo Herd) but he did some good ones too.
