Scott, that is a nice Imperial - the short cap lifter does give it a 60's - 70's look. If you decide to move that one let me know!

Here's one I won last night.

Couldn't get a picture to post. Outsmarted again ::doh::

Never seen one like this, have you? Kinda neat, I thought, and the price was right ::tu::

Royal, that is a nice variation on the Barlow - an electricians version - never seen one either, but it is neat.

Well that one is an odd fellow, all the way around. First off, an electrician's Barlow is a little strange on it's own but especially so as an advertising knife for a bank.
Luka State Bank Electricians Barlow.jpg
"But wait, there's more", said the now deceased Billy Mays!

Luka is a small village, just East of Salem in Marion County Illinois. Luka State Bank started doing business under that name in 1910. Only God knows when the name changed or the bank closed it's doors. I think the early 1930s (depression years) would not be an outlandish guess.

Check out this small portion of the June 7, 1911 interrogation of a Mr. Holstlaw by Illinois Senator Hanecy. -- http://books.google.com/books?id=LGY-AA ... nk&f=false

It's the minutes of an investigation "Whether corrupt methods and practices were employed in the election of William Lorimer as a Senator of the United States from the State of Illinois". Corruption in Illinois politics is not a new thing.

I recall seeing that knife on eBay. It's a good old Southern Illinois knife. I should have bid on it.

That is an odd one. I had not seen one like that until I picked this one up on the bay recently...

Then lo and behold, a few weeks later, another one pops up on ebay.

The bank must have existed long after the 30's, if i'm not mistaken, that's a 60's or 70's version of a shell handled Colonial knife. ::shrug::

MB -- Considering all the bank failures during the depression and the size of the town, I was just doing my usual guesstimating. I'm sure you're right. No hits on the bank today. Probably swallowed up by a larger bank after the distance for branch banks was repealed.

bigdaddys8ball -- Using the well worn bone handles and the rat-tail bolsters as my guide, I'd guesstimate that old girl has been around the block a time or two. She may be an old heifer but she's still a looker.

heres one i got lastweek,i had to do some yardwork for this one. i took my mom to town for groceries and we went by a yardsale and she has to stop at all of them. i was sitting there waiting for her to look everything over when i saw a boat paddle laying on a fishing tackle box so i got out to see if it was any good. it was a almost new paddle and had a tag for one dollar, i picked it up and went to pay the lady for it and she told me the tackle box went with it, i didn't even look in it till i got home. it had a few plugs in it with rusty hooks and some melted rubber worms and in the bottom was this knife still in the plastic bag with the packing grease. it has camillus new york u.s.a. stamped on it. looks like a linerlock electrician knife. dang good thing i needed a boat paddle.

Got me one just like it, but more wear ::tear:: Any way I went to visit a friend yesterday at his jewelery shop which is located inside a huge old barn out here in Aptos with a bunch of antique stores within. While there I was wandering and came across a fella that had guns ,swords bayonets etc, lots a stuff. this one caught my eye and $10.00 later I walked out with it ::tu::

These three are out for delivery today. Should have them in hand in about 3-4 hours. The Kershaw Leek Praying Biker is for one of my church goin', motorcycle ridin' cousins. The other two are for me. JohnnieR talked me into the Buck SIRUS. I talked me into the Kershaw Needs Work. I hope that Needs Work doesn't get me in over my head. :)

Sellers pictures.

Nice looking trio there Jerry....Post some comments on that Kershaw Needs Work after you get it...I've gone back and forth on gettin' one of those ever since they came out! I noticed the prices on them have dropped quite a bit and the selection of handle colors has expanded of late, curious as to the utility of the blade shape for edc....looks like it would be a good box or carpet ripper for sure....

Thanks shugy & Mike. They're all AO. Leeks are nothing new to me but the other two have me doin' the pee pee dance, waitin' on the postal carrier. The next 3-4 hours are going to be pure torture.

Mike -- I'll not carry the Needs Work but it looks like a huge sheepsfoot straight edge blade. I was thinking more kitchen type work. I may slice a mater with it and make a mater & Miracle Whip sandwich. I'll let you know. :)
