I like the PH1. Although the 15OT is a close second.

I don't have "one" favorite because it changes with the situation. But here is what I am taking as my number one knife this Autumn hunting. I will take others as well, and use yet others back at the house skinning and butchering. But this one is just a favorite. 1095 steel. Not pretty really. Elk stag inserts for juju. Vic Hangas/Ruana. EZE LAP diamond hone, well broken-in. I carry my knives while hunting in a pack or fanny pack, not on my belt. I have seen too many knives lost that way. Oh, BTW, those are 300 Winchester Short Mag cartridges.

Oops.... I didn't see the Schrade label. I'll be back with pertinent post. Please forgive. ::doh:: ::facepalm::

That's a beautiful knife and great idea on carrying. I lost a great old Case due to a flimsy sheath.

Well I only have one schrade fixed blade Tank.

I bought this 143OT back in the mid 90's to take hunting and after about 15 or so years she's still going strong and has put the finishing touches on dozens of white tails. She ain't high end pretty but i'd put her up against anything else I have used for field dress duty.

They were made to work and certainly will. I have a similar one without the guthook. Never had the chance to test it but it's scary sharp.

Tried to pick a favorite but couldn't. Maybe you could help me decide. Both were dressed up by Dale Vincent, one with giraffe bone the other ivory. I think both knives are exceptional.

Oooh I like those, Glenn. Steel, I don't think I could pick a favorite between those two. Dale does great work.

Unfortunately, I do not hunt anymore Tank, which is strange because my wife just got me an English Springer Field Spaniel this last year, darn cute too!

my favorite fixed blade is the 150 T, i have had mine going on 30 years and its ripped open more ribcages from deer and hogs than i can recount. the blade gets razor sharp and holds a good edge. i got a mule deer antler from a friend and replaced the factory handle with it. the antler fits my hand so much better that the one it came with. i have been looking for another one that i can put the other part of the leftover antler on for my son.

LD, I really like your customized 150 - nice!

Here ya go. Twenty-three of them (unless you don't do eBay). Mostly new ones, some old ones, expensive ones, inexpensive ones. Most likely the new ones are Taylor-Schrade and ya know where they're made. Of course, that may not bother you. There are some it doesn't make any difference to. Not mine to judge one way or the other. ::shrug::
