hi everyone! im new here, obviously. lol! i'm 25, i've been collecting knives since i was 9. it's quite a passion of mine since i was old enough to appreciate the craftsmanship and art that goes into each knife. my biggest knife dream is to own an italian switchblade, but given the fact that they're illegal here in most of the united states, my state being no exception, i doubt i will ever get one. finding a way around that law seems impossible. oh well, at least i can come on here and talk to good people who share my love of all things knife related. i look forward to talking with you all and getting to know you

hey! thanks for the warm welcome pplz! i know compared to alot of ppl here my collection id probably a total joke. lol! most of my knives are appealing to look at, but they're mostly cheapo's. all modern day, display knives, most made by frost cutlery. idk y buy i really like the looks of most frost knives. though as stated above, my dream is an authentic italian switchblade. i really really wish i could find a loophole around that switchblades are illegal thing. lol! btw, its of no relevance to knives or the forums, but a little fact about me that you should, and will find over time about me, im transgendered. pre everything. so being somewhere i can come and take my mind of the gender issues and just talk about my hobbies is a big relief!

Welcome to AAPK! I sure didn't know it was illegal to own an Italian (or any other country of origin) switchblade in the USA - are you sure it is illegal to own one or to CARRY one? I have one myself, issued to me by the US Army, still have it, but don't carry it (pistols are better weapons anyway). You might want to look further into the law in your area - you might be able to own your dream knife!

no, sadly ive look into it on many levels. the only way to legally get a switch here is to get a waiver. im going to look into what the exact guidelines are for such a document, but as far as i can see, the only chance of a waiver is to get them to believe i can only operate a knife with one hand. but one member did tell me, i could try getting a waiver based on the fact that i am not some punk gangster kid, but simply a collector who admires the beauty and artistic side of knife crafting. even then idk for sure if they'll give me one. i'm looking into it as we speak.

and thanks for the welcome everyone. philco, yeah, i know. i guess when i see collectors like you all who got all the older more valueable knives i just look at all mine and go "wow, really? and i call this a collection?" lol then i stop to think, "well, at one time those were considered cheapo's. i guess over time my value will grow. great thing about knife collecting, its cheap now but wait 20-30 years. lol"
