remington repair

Post by dobro59 »

Bought an old remington that had scale chip repaired at the rocker pin.Well the other side of pin was loose so i peened it tighter, but felt good i didnt chip this side of the bone. The repair side chip fell out and i discovered they had used 2 part epoxy to repair it with. Not being discouraged i used a minute amount gasket shellac and mixed it with my epoxy to a nice matching brown color. After it dried i shaped it to the contour of the rest of the handle. Although i would not call myself a repair guru thanks to all who post in this column
i am improving and not afraid to try.
