2007 NFL Draft; How did your team do?

Post by MITCH RAPP »

8) Being a long suffering Oakland Raider fan, I was happy to see we are

at least headed in the right direction with this Football draft. We haven't

had a decent Quarterback since Rich Gannon retired. How did your team

do in the Draft? ::shrug::

As far as the draft went I think the 49er's kicked butt in the draft as well as in the off season they got a lot of high profile players.

I think they will be above .500 this year, they did extremely well, trading a pick in the fourth round to pick up Seattles best wide receiver.
Their draft looked like the old days when Bill Walsh was the coach.

8) Hukk; Wouldn't a California SUPER BOWL be great some day? 49ers

vs Raiders. ::ds:: You and I would have to bet a Knife or two on that

one, my friend ::tu::

Another wide receiver (Calvin Johnson) for Detroit's first pick this year ::mdm:: . That makes four 1st round wr picks for Detroit out of last 5 drafts. Two of them were recently let go after disapointing performance. The guy in charge is getting a lot of flack from it, but I think it was the right thing to do. Offense should be fun to watch if they can ever get on the field.

They need help bad on defense, but yet they used second pick on a questional QB ::shrug::

I think us Lion fans can expect another top ten 1st round draft pick next year ::doh:: Hope there isn't another can't miss WR in that draft.

There were some great deals made by several teams. Competition should be tough. I wish the Lions could borrow the Patriot's management for a couple seasons ::nod::

I don't know guys I think I got you beat this year in the NFL draft disappointment list. I am a lonnng time Dolphin fan and all the cards aligned for Brady Quinn to take the reigns at quarterback and what do we get intstead, an injured receiver that ran three patterns his entire college career... ::td:: ::disgust::

8) Ralph; I have to agree with you on that one. Why on earth would the

Dolphins pass on Brady Quinn, is beyond me. I think he is going to be a

very good pro Quarterback in a year or two. I guess they think they are

going to pick up Trent Green from KC. Who by the way is way past his

prime! ::td:: I FEEL YOUR PAIN! :cry:

As a 9'er fan all I can say is, "I have felt your pain". Did he make Parcells quit? ::dang::

Oh Oh... You did get the shortest end of the stick. I forgot about that move.

Ginn might be the next Devin Hester though ::shrug:: I think the Bears got Devin in round 5 last year :mrgreen: . Quinn probably would have been the next Marino ::tear:: ::tounge::

Sorry for the salt rub. I'm just hoping the Lions might find at least one team to beat up on over the next few years. :mrgreen:

While we would like to see that, it will be boring for the rest of the country. But, I think the Raiders will never be a winner as long as Al Davis has his say (sorry). I'm still not sold on Alex Smith as QB for the 49er's. But it is tough to follow the acts of Montana, Young and even Garcia at QB. The 49er's have been rich with QB's.

8) Hukk; No apology necessary, I am no Al Davis fan either. He is the

reason the team has been so bad ever since their Super Bowl loss. He

really needs to retire or give up control of day to day operations. Which

he won't! However he can't live forever :x

Grin.. :mrgreen: Well at least we get the chance this time of the year to have a little hope in our favorite teams and imagine if only for a minute that they are playoff bound with an outside chance at the Super bowl... :lol:

Well all except the Raiders fans... ::tounge:: Sorry about that Mitch I agree that Al Davis needs to retire or stop meddling with the team..

I actually like the chances of the 49er's this year for the play-offs. The Raiders should win 6, they lost a lot on close games and close calls always seemed to go against them. Losing Moss is good for them, may make New England look awfully good. He became a high paid slacker.
