works like brand spankin new ,,,,there wasn`t even any openeing marks on the tang

1950's Coricama stilettos. It's not the full set, but I have not added any new ones to this set in years,
as I have been focused on the pre-WW2 switchblade knives instead.

Hey Guys, looks like one of you can probably help me out on this one. I've had it for a very long time and never knew who made it. It's not marked, has horn handles and is 11" open. It's very similar to Sticks of Fire's Coricama's. Could that be what this one is, or are there other possibilities?

Yours is a pretty normal 1950's Italian "picklock." Probably made between 1950-1958.
Without any markings it's hard to say who made it? Probably some group of makers
like the Mauro Mario group. Nice knife, thanks for sharing it.

Ok thanks! I now know when i'm talking about it, I CAN call it an "Unmarked 50's Italian Picklock". All I could do before was say,

"I think it's Italian".

late 50s / early 60s? picklock 13'' nothing fancy , but never sharpened, Nickel hardware , D-stamped brackets, slip in kicker fat 5mm backspring . Enjoy !

I'll second that.Spring knives have always been a favorite of mine.Got my first one in junior high school;a fishtail Colonial with green scales that promptly broke. Repaired it with a large hairpin borrowed from my grandmother.Got my first Italian in high school(maybe 14) for $6;a ton of money back then.Had it taken away by a teacher who probably added it to his own collection.
Did some repair work on them for a local cop(a friend of my grandfather)and would occasionally con him out of one.
Acquired a lot of them over the years and still have most of them.Came from all over the place.A friend of mine who was an assistant curator at the Salem Witch Museum gave me a beautiful Othello gravity knife he had found in the walls of the museum when they were doing some repair work.Must have been in there for many years as it was almost frozen solid with gunk inside it.Blade had never been sharpened.Several friends donated ones they had purchased overseas while in the service.Got a couple of great German ones that way.
I don't know how many I have now(a whole drawer full and more)but there is nothing like hearing the snap of a well oiled Italian stiletto;almost as good as hearing the slide on a 12 gauge shotgun racking.
