Here's a Pretty minty Hunters Pride I just picked up. Ended up being in much better shape than I had thought when I bought it. Wasn't ever sharpened. Boy was I pleased when I opened the box!

Not near so nice as yours, but I was happy to get this one. Lots of contrast in the bone, from near black to reddish caramel, and nicely matched on both sides.

The Hunter's Pride and the Pressbutton are both recent additions.

Nice looking knives Fran. I especially like the color variation in the Schrade. Great scores! Are you going to be in Harrisonburg in a couple of weeks? I'll be there with two tables. Can't believe they scheduled it on Easter weekend though.

I had to do some searchin' to find this thread. I know my knife not a real "Press Button", but I thought posting this here would be ok.

Bret was a brave man today & took me & the kids to a packed gunshow in Ohio. It was one of those days when my two boys (12 and 8 ) poke each other for no reason other than to irritate the other. So, when we got to the show, I shuffled them down the aisles far ahead of Bret to let him look in peace. About half way through the show, I found two knives & scooped them up before Bret even saw them. One was a Baldwin Cut. Co. that I posted on the Congress thread. The other is a Remington. It's worn but still works. Bret was happily surprised when I met up with him.

No doubt the first one is a "THE VICTOR". How much can I clean on the blade without losing the etch? The second one looks like the blade has been reshaped? If it has it was a long long time ago, look at the patina on that blade.

I have these 2, one Schrade and one Imperial. It looks to me like the Schrade has copper pins, is that possible? Plus I still can't figure out what the handles are made out of, looks like wood-colored composite of some type.

I Have a "case of Press Buttons" but not really looking to sell them. I do have one listed up for trade but might consider a $ offer.
I have had a few "Case" button knives in both the single and double bladed examples. They were also offered in a 4" Fishtail and a few lever examples and the famous "Zipper" slide openers. The smaller button examples are not very common. I helped a friend find a Case double that was "Dead Mint" the seller wanted $1200 for it but my buddy got down under $1000. They are very valuable so expect to pay pretty big $ for them if you come across them. To me they are just a high dollar Schrade or Presto with a different tang stamp. Ya the case brand press buttons are very valuable i collect case knives only and thats about the only kind of case k ife i dont have i had planned on spending alot of money for one thats not a problem i just cant find one. If any one knows where i can find one that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks , I really enjoy these old American "Button" knives . Some my favorites are the large doubles by Press Button Knife Co. and Schrade ? Cut. The punch bladed example was just recently finished up by Kaleb (Muskrat Man) . He did a amazing job on it . It was in parts pretty much when I found it but the blade and punch were full and not pitted and only had the patina that you see now.. It has the 06-07 Pat dates and has a Spear blade with the "Full Swedge " grind which along with the punch blade makes it a really rare example . The Press Button 3 3/4" also has a pretty rare blade combo. It has a main "Spear" and secondary "Spey". it has half-moon cut-outs on both scales where the Schrade/Cut only has a cut-out on the punch blade side. These are known as a "Mechanic Jack" and they were offered with a few different blade combos .

The Case knives show up on occasion . Shot me a email or P.M. I might be able to find you a example or hook you up with someone . I may have some pictures also of some examples. I was looking at some old catalogs and seen that Case offered a few other examples also in the larger size singles . I had forgot to mention this in my other reply. I have seen a few the larger ones but not sure I have ever seen one with folding guards ??
