I made some small knives and I gave my girl friend one to carry in her car.
You never know when you could need one to cut a seat belt or what not - could save your life.
Or theirs?? I just carry a pocket knife....... :D

Nice collection there. - ::tu::

8) Todd, Thanks for the reply! If that neck knife you made for your girl friend looks anything like your other knives, I would carry it everyday and twice on Sunday's ::tu:: :D

When I was working in an office environment I carried this around my kneck and a gerber shortcut pocket tool for the "public" stuff.
This little shiv is slim, stout, sharp and a joy to carry.

I have one of the Colt Guardian Fred Carter designed neck knives, used to wear it all the time last summer.

I think the knive are nice, but somehow, for me, I can't bring myself to have that cord around my neck.

I agree with Joe. I think the knife designs are pretty cool looking but I couldnt have one hanging around my neck all day. Maybe if I was younger I could? ::shrug::

gino, these knives appear tacticle to me, by and large and that's just fine, but if you find yourself in a in a defensive situation needing to use the knife you also potentially offer your opponent the cord around your neck. I see some are break away though.

I dont know enough about them but you make a good point. Like I said before I might like em if I was younger. They seem like something the younger guys would like. I would like to hear from some of the younger members if they like these and would wear them so this is a pretty cool and interesting thread.

Mitch, I like the third one down on the left side. What is it?

Was thinking about the reasons & places for carrying a neck knife the other day. The situations you are engaged in could dictate why and where and how to carry one. I always ask myself, "WHAT IF?" and then analyze the possibilities. 'What if?' you were traversing some steep terrain and took a tumble down a steep hill or incline? Anything hung around your neck could catch on a stub or root or rock during your fall & proceed to hang you, so, anything around your neck should always be able to break way from you during any possible emergency, knife, compass, deer calls, GPS, camera, binoculars, anything hung around your neck.
"What if?" I were working on my back property, maybe trimming or felling some trees, and through some tragic misfortune, one of my arms became pinned by a falling tree or branch, I may not be able to reach a knife in my pocket or belt carried, but a neck knife would be easily accessible by either hand. Perhaps a neck carry cellphone would be a good idea in this respect. 'What if?' your clothing became entagles in some type of heavy duty machinery you were working with, or a hand or something, quick access to a neck knife could be your salvation. The 'what if?' possibilities are endless, always question.

Hey, stayinsharp. I also have a Cold Steel Spike. I tried carrying it but that doesn't work with older men who carry a lifetime of good food under (and over) their belt. It was pretty obvious under my t-shirt. Besides, I couldn't see digging around in my t-shirt, trying to get it out in a timely fashion. So, it hangs on the bedpost overnight. (Does your chewing gum?)

I have EDC'd these 3....not for sure if the Snap Lock was intended as such but that’s how I used it.
The united I wear a lot ... I use it as a neck knife and to clip on my belt loop.
The Devils Elbo ...is a pic that I pulled from the web....I'll take a pic of mine tomorrow. :)

8) Yes Sir Johnnie, you are correct on both counts! ::tu:: That is a CRKT Sting and the bottom right knife is The Emerson La Griffe (claw). It is a design from noted French knifemaker Fredric Perrin, for Emerson Knives and my Favorite of the Lot!

I carry an old 3" blade Henckels 304 1/2 work knife in a homemade wood scabbard with a magnet built in for retention when I'm fishing. Not fancy but very handy.

Johnnie, I checked out that link you posted and you're right. That seller has some awesome knives! ::drool::

Here's one I picked up recently to take with me when I go hiking, fishing, or whatever. Once I add a lanyard to the sheath it'll be good to go. I don't have much information on the company that made it, but the handles are white carbon fiber and the blade is 2.55" of D2 tool steel. A durable working knife if I ever saw one.

Johnnie, that's a very unusual knife. I like it. ::tu::

To me it kind of looks like a play on the Alaskan ulu. It looks like it was designed to be a skinner.
