ever watch "HOW IT'S MADE" ?

the blades are run through an automated grind an polish machine...
one blade at a time is grabbed and sent flying through a series or rollers...one atop the other...like an hand operated washing machine.

JohnnieR -- I consider them 'shells' because the bolsters are hollow and attached with tabs. ::shrug::

gringo -- I've never seen that. That explains a lot. Thanks.

Here is my trade day find from over in Lichfield, KY. I took this Erick pick while I was still there. It's a Hen and Rooster Solingen, Germany 4 in sow belly Stockman with green jigged bone scales. It's a 25th anniversary made for smkw, and has smkw name stamped in the secondary blade.

It's got great snap and half stops, it's really sharp, and all together pretty!

And an auto-magic fish whacker at that. Tim, I think that nob is more of a counter weight for the scale than it is a whacker. Maybe it serves both purposes. What do I know, I've never held one in my hands.

Cool knives. Good pickup.

Holy smokes Cutty, that Furtaker is right up my alley, two of my favorite blade shapes, and wood handles! What's the closed length on that one? Looks like a great carry knife.
