Custom Buck 110

Just finished this knife up. I thought it would be cool to keep the factory look of the knife, with the handle scales. I removed the lock bar, and added file work, the hande engraved the bolsters. Finally I replaced the center pin with a mosaic. I am proud of the way the knife turned out. Let me know what you thnk and any improvements to be made. I listed this one on Ebay, hope it does well.

Mike,

Very nice job! I know absolutely nothing about engraving, but have always liked it. I've often said that I would like to be able to engrave.

What kind of tools are needed to start? Expensive?

Looks good, I hope it does well. That makes a couple real nice ones, bet you have been doing a few more. Need engraving done at a fair price, give Mike a PM, I'm happy with what he did for me.

I too wish I knew something about engraving. I think it adds a lot to a knife.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, I appreciate it. Severawl asked about engraving, tools and such. There are several ways to go, but to really get set up with tools you are going to spend a little cash. I will sure help anyone I can so feel free to ask. I would suggest if you want to learn, find someone and see if you can watch, or attend a school. There is an online class available throug Motgomery College. There are also some great forums out there dedicated to the craft. I will say this, if you want to learn, start drawing, if you can draw it, you can cut it.

Huck you still building knives? The last ones I saw here were mighty nice, keep up the good work.
