I am looking at a commemorative CASE knife set . . . & I'm wondering what I should offer for it.

She wants $200. I was thinking I'd offer $150. It's a three knife set. It's a commemorative set that was issued in 2000. It has a peach seed jigged chestnut bone 6165 SS, a Rogers jigged white bone 61265 LC SS and a smooth old red bone TH61165 SS. There were 500 sets made, and this is #100.

What do you think? Sorry for the crappy pictures.

OK Eric,

I'm not to hip on new case knives, but the display is worth $50.00.
I guess $150.00 is reasonable.

This is the kind of case knife I like.

I typically don't buy newer CASE knives either, but I read a post (on here) not too long ago where someone said that 2000's were starting to be more desirable in terms of collectibility. So . . . I was just checking to see what people thought.

I much prefer the sorts of knives you just showed as well . . . sweet as can be.

Eric,

Think about it before you spend your bucks? A commemorative Case knife set for 2000 after you sit on it for twenty years it may grow in value or it may not, are the knife patterns in the set hot (sot after by many in the hobby), how many sets were made, does this set have the proper documentation (COA)??? ....These are things to consider when buying a commemorative knife set that will grow in value for the long haul! ....As Gary pointed out, the case it comes in is very nice!

I would say well worth the $150 and more if you must. Figure $50 a knife and the case for free on a numbered set? If you don't want it, let me know

The 5254s are 10 dot knives. The 75s are XXs, as well as the 92s.
A lot of people don't care for the Stockman patters, I love-um!
