remington r201

Post by chetr1200c »

since i do not do pictures, i will post the ebay pics instead. what is the general concensus on this easy open. it makes me wonder, since there has been only two bidders on what appears to be a full and in excellent shape remington. any opinions would be appreciated. thank you for looking....chet

Seller started bidding at $79.99. A high starting bid tends to turn off potential buyers and weeds out the tire kickers looking for a bargain. So lower number of bidders.

jerry i should have included that observation in my question. it did cross my mind. i think and hope that is the reason for only one bidder besides me.

Chet, I don't have a clue what kind of deal you got but IMO you got a very nice knife. I like it a lot but then, I too am a sucker for EZ-Opens.

Chet I think you done real good on this old easy open. For what it's worth, Stewart and Ritchie lists the R201 at $210.Slim

Chet... I watched it and almost bid on it. With the blade
etch I couldn't figure how to get the scratches out. I
would not use a etched knife as a user, and would have
lost the etch trying to get the scratches out. Love the scales
on that one. You did well!

thanks guys. i can't figure on how all those scratches got on those blades with the etch still in tact. ::shrug:: if it didn't have those samll but multiple scrathes all over it, including the bolsters, i would have to say this is near mint. guess i'll be able to tell when it arrives.
i own quite a few of the vintage rems easy opens, but i don't have this pattern #, thats why i just had to go for it. ::tu::

Looks like a great old knife at a very good price.

P.S. I wouldn't do anything to that great old knife, especially with that etch.
