Haven't posted a new pick-up for ages, what's even stranger is, it ain't a GEC. Couldn't pass up this barlow, in red abalone with ladder damascus. Labeled Keen Kutter made by Bear & Son. Super slick ::ds::

This Colonel Coon Whittler from James Estes (AAPK store - North 40 Cutlery) came this past Monday. Unfortunately I had to leave before it got here and drive to Charlotte for a couple of days of meetings; my wife told me she signed for it from the USPS lady 30 minutes after I left home. I just opened the box an hour ago; it is a very nice wedge spring whittler (my first wedge spring knife) with very nice bone (hard to get the color right in a picture). The blades open fairly softly, but lock solidly and close with a good snap (just like my Buck 309 and most of my modern Case knives); I would say the Colonel Coon is equal to a current Case, made by Queen from stainless steel.
