Post by agteacher2 »

Anybody know much about the Schrade Waldens. I got bit by the Ebay bug. I bid on this trapper and won. I see a couple of possible problems but I bid anyway. ( read I'm a sucker) How bad did I do for 20. Bucks?

The Schrade Walden stamping was used c. 1948-1973.
That looks like yellow composition...with a bit of reprofiling at the tip of the master clip blade.
JMO...$20 is a fair price...if it "Walks and Talks" you could make a small profit reselling.

However, it would be a great user... ::tu::

Thanks Bill,
I will probably put it up and drop it in my pocket once in while to carry around. I really enjoy having you guys to count on for this kind of info. ::tu:: Isn't AAPK the best "place" in the world.

I don't know it's collectors value, but I would have paid $20 for it. I like trappers and it looks like it would make a great user.

Jeff,
Please excuse me as I realized I mistyped the time period.
It should be c. 1946-1973. Sorry.

I think $20 is a very good price for a good quality USA made folding knife unless it is absoutely worn out. Yours appears that it has a lot of life left in it. You did well.
