Unmarked Ink Eraser

I bought this lot because I was interested in the ink eraser at the bottom. (I'm a sucker for pearl handles and the price was right at 11 bucks.) I don't have it in hand yet, but the seller says there are no markings on it. Does anyone know when they stopped making ink erasers like that one? I'm trying to date it as best I can. Thanks.

Nice pearl one! Don't see those very often and it looks shorter than most.
I checked BRL's 2nd Edition and he only has about a paragraph on Industial Knives(his term).He doesn't give any dates but I would think they probably went out of favor just before WWII or thereabouts.I have quite a few of them;some fancy and most plain by several makers.
Here's mine.The small sterling silver one is the tiniest one I've ever seen.

The seller listed it as pearl but that thought crossed my mind as well. I've seen lower quality pearls have patterns on them similar to abalone, but I'll know what it is once it's in hand. If it is abalone, then all the better. I actually like that better than pearl.

Got the ink eraser today. It is indeed unmarked. It's also pretty small, only about 4 3/4" long. On the plus side the handles are abalone!
