I made it to the Blade show yesterday--and I could tell Monk hadn't been there!

I stopped by the GEC table not long after I got there and met Ryan Daniels, who seemed like a very nice young man. He made me a nice deal on two knives:

The Powderhorn in Copperhead bone is pure, raw sexy! I never thought I'd say that about a pocket knife, but there you go!

The ebony doghead is one I've wanted for a while. This one is marked Pattern Production Prototype.

In case you're wondering, both saw pocket time before I even left the show. The Powderhorn, though a fairly long knife, is very pocket friendly because of the shape.

I also got a PAL Cutlery jacknife in great shape. Pics of it are over in the General section. If anyone has any ideas about how to determine age, please let me know.

The Blade show was great--it was the first time I've gone and it won't be the last. Good thing Ryan didn't have a bullet end jack in ebony...

My favorite pattern (#73),Trand !!!!____Nice !!! ::tu::

I got this Montana Whittler,in todays mail__just had to see how thick, the little knife was ::hmm:: and yep'-- she is a thick one, with the three backsprings__but @ 3 3/4 in. she's my knida' knife___the Red Dawn Jig Bone,is really really close, to ""old world brown bone"" !!!!!!!!! looking forward to seeing the Northfield versions ::nod:: ______this would make a real ""Work-Horse Knife"" for EDC___all three blades have half-stop,and the blades are easy open, with bear trap, like closing !!!!! Clip, Spear & Wharncliffe, blades are evenly matched,to the size of the knife**** GEC has hit a real winner with this pattern, ( IMHO ) ::ds:: ::ds::

Thanks Monk. The #73 is a great one. I sharpened her up a bit and put her to work right away.

I love the color of that bone Monk. It is a classic. I was concerned originally about the thickness of the knife but I see and had confirmed elsewhere that there aren't any liners between the blades. Do you have a pic showing how the blades sit together closed? Maybe one comparing the to a 2 blade knife like the #73 as well?

I just got a couple of these in tonight. Wow! They are sweet; really built to work and not at all too thick. I love the blade choices and also like the square tangs. I think GEC hit a home run with this pattern. ::tu:: ::tu::

That Whittler is a great looking knife! Why do they keep doing this to me? I had one more on my list that I don't have yet, the bullet end jack, and they gotta make that beast of a Whittler!

Now I gotta find a bullet end and figure out how to get a Whittler. It just ain't right.
