You guys have style - that's for sure. Will carry this I*XL 3" Dogleg to church today, then switch to my Old Cutler 4" jack when I head out of town tonight to be ready for jobsite work early tomorrow morning (inspecting/troubleshooting on a construction job - not actually sweating by doing the labor!)

When I loaded up this morning this went in my right front pocket:

Do them freckles on the blades give it character or say I'm a sorry excuse for a knife guy?

@JustPlainDave: I'm digging the spear point on that read knife? Is that pattern still considered an equal end cattle knife with the slight bit of sway back? When I see that blade combo, I think EE cattle knife but I've only seen pictures of the cattle knife with a more cigar shaped frame, like on a camper/bsa knife. Cool looking knife and excellent looking main blade!!!
I'm green with envy, so I'm carrying this today (monster Opinel #10 rides as back up in the PDA case).

I had a green one just like that, but I had broken the tip back when I didn't always have a scout knife on me. It went away at a garage sale.
The Red knife I posted is a Humpback Whittler. The Wharncliffe blade started life as a spey. Could STAND that so I modded it. HAD to get CV steel....

GD, how you liking the cub scout knife?
I've come so close to getting one of those it's not even funny. The liner locks for the screw driver and awl make perfect sense to me. Concerned the blade would be a bit small for my taste though. Still...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I went back to my GEC after a few hours and a closer look at the S&M that I just got, it has blade wobble and a very weak close on the small blade and also it hasmajor blade rubs now after playing with it for a hour or two, I am real unhappy with it. ::bummed::

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Sorry to hear that Gino - I hate that feeling - I also have one (another brand, not S&M) that I was expecting a lot more of than I got - a whole lot of small little issues, any two of which I could have lived with but all together just too much (or too little) for what they claim to deliver - it just says "I couldn't give a damn" about their attitude to making knives.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I'm sorry to hear that Gino. I haven't gotten any of the modern S&M knives yet but I thought that they would be of high quality coming from Queen. Here's an early Father's Day gift. It's also from a manufacturer I've never owned before but I find this one to be everything I expected so far. Moore-Maker 5160LLB single blade (1095 tool steel) medium trapper liner lock with smooth green bone scales.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks guys, the S&M is from 1998 series 8 and I bought it as new but its really a poor made knife. It looks beautiful though and thats why I bought it. I own about 10 or so other S&M's and they are all fine and I am real happy with them, I guess I just got a lemon.
I like my GEC EO better anyway

Hey Sasquatch,
Moore Makers knives are either made by Queen or Bear. Nice knife anyway.

The one I have was made by Bear & Sons. They also have knives made by Queen, Canal Street, and Utica as well. When you made your comment I called the phone number on the box, spoke to the owner, and confirmed it. He told the there ain't enough people in Matador TX to have a knife factory!trey wrote:Hey Sasquatch,

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
From what Ive learned over the last few years, If you want a Queen knife for EDC go with the knives made with D2 steel as the others are mainly made for showing off /collecting/ collectability. I dont carry nothin too "fancy" nowdays right now I got an old 36-52 Imperial that still snaps like a gator and is as tight as a drum. Not hard to look at really and as functional as any knife and moreso than many.

Very nice, Bob! I like it. I have several old timey knives that still perform with the best. Quality ages well.
