MB, That Empire lady figural is beautiful! This Challenge looks a lot like Jacknifeben's Cattaraugus, but with a VERY sharpened master blade.

Top: Bowie Knife by unknown maker, solid aluminum block scales.
Left: Challenge Cutlery Co., steel
Miller Bros. Cut. Co. Meriden, stainless steel
Northfield Kn. co. Pen Knife, aluminum
Holley Mfg. Co., stainless steel (edit: this is actually silver of some kind, it has gold overtones)

This one is one I feel very lucky(and proud) to have ,not to mention it was not easy talking the last owner out of..It is a George and Martha Washington knife made by "Press Button Knife Co. " .Wish I knew more about it. I have seen only a handful these and most the detail was worn off on a few .The detail in the sterling handles on this one is truly amazing This one came with a presentation box that I have not seen with any others but have no clue if its original to the knife . However it goes very nice with this example and appears to be very old and even has a imprint of Maratha's face in cloth so I suspect it has been with the knife all its life.
I think I heard that George Washington said Grow Hemp and it appears that the leafs on the knife are Hemp Leafs but I could be mistaken

Gosh...you all have such nice metal scaled knives...I'm about ashamed to show this one..

I have heard Zippo put out quite a few of these cigarette ad knives...There's one on ebay now that advertising Doral.

I think there pretty interesting...well built...I assume they are Case manufactured...

I didn't know Winchester made a metal watch fob knife until I found this one. Number 2205 with the WINCHESTER TRADE MARK MADE IN U.S.A. on both blades.

It will get derusted and oiled. High pressure air and WD40 will clean her up, with no worry about hurting the handles

I have been collecting Vintage American autos for little over 1 1/2" years .My collection is pretty small but I try to make up for it in quality. My main focus is Press Button Knife Co and my side hobbies are Flylock and Very early Schrade Cut Co autos. I only collect Bone ,Silver, Gold, Pearl and if I'm ever lucky to ad examples PBKC made a few examples in real ebony and ivory and horn . I had been collecting a few Italian and other autos for around 4 years before I decided on what I wanted to collect.So I sold all the ones I saved and bought Press Buttons. I have went through around 400 + vintage autos and have only kept but a handful .This has given me hands on experience and let me cherry pick for the good stuff. There are a few I have let go that I regret but I think its all came back around. To be honest I enjoy the hunt as much as I enjoy the knives . Being a Tn dirt farmer I'm to poor to keep them all.
Two the small Press Buttons are Florida commemorative knives one being to St Augustine and the other is to Ponce De Leon. I have since even upgraded the Ponce De Leon to a untouched Dead Mint example (it is one the few knives I consider to be a True mint knife )that I was Lucky to trade the last owner out of it and a Dead Mint Flylock in the 3 3/8" with a shackle and rare flower pattern. (also Pictured)

The display I picked up at local gun/knife show for $15 . It cost more then that to buy the Walnut or the maybe even the beveled glass. . Since adding it I now keep my eyes open for display boxes as .

Here is another one my favorites and is my favorite small Flylock I own perhaps because its my only small Flylock (so far ) but may have a sterling example coming like the one in the ad..The one pictured is a Solid White Gold 2 7/8" Flylock. This knife is very heavy and weighs more then the larger 3 3/8" flylocks with metal scales .This is due to the density of the gold. This example never had a shackle which seems that bout all the 2 7/8" did . The shackles have the 10K stamp on them so this was one that was overlooked and the seller did not know it was gold. Is a simple design but I really like it .I was told my one veteran collector and who is also a Author of a Switchblade book and price guide that in 30 years he has seen 2 this model. I also included a old ad from a Chicago hardware store I have listing a 10 k solid gold knife .Most the yellow gold examples found are only plated but solid gold examples were made but they are very rare to find .I love this ad . These were considered "Real High Class knives" back then
