The two smaller knives are for castrating farm animals, the spey blade is for pigs and calves and the other blade is a rooster nutter. Jack Knife Ben sold alot of these back in the early 1900's at his store in Union Stock Yards, Chicago.

JKB, I rarely see a JKBen knife of any condition, so I still think you must have most of them already!

Very interesting JKB, they are sure nice.
Glad to be "killin" you with these Conn stamps FJR. But I must say, I have seen some of your collection on this website and it has been an inspiration to be posting mine. I see we both enjoy the ol' CT cutlery.

Thanks for the comments. Watch out for fakes out there. A shop in Illinois had a 2 bladed Jack Knife Ben with a 350.00 price tag on it that never saw Union Stock Yards and was made way after they closed. Somebody made alot of trapper patterns with Jack Knife Ben stamp that is fake as can be. I hate to see guys get burned on these so if you find one and have any doubt let me know.

Thanks, BH, MB and Orvet. I really enjoyed receiving this one. Snaps like fire, and just feels really nice in the hand. I wish I knew more about the history of this company, I might have to do a little research. Do any of you know anything about it?

Re: Old Ebony Wood Handle Knives
There have sure been some nice old knives posted in this thread!
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

By the way, I'm still not tired of looking at those Cattaraugus beauties JACKNIFEBEN! The look like they really fit in the hand well, and both with very nice shields.
