tell me if I got burned!!!

Post by bamabronco »

OK....went to Tupelo, MS today to a big gun/knife show (never been to one, I was impressed) REally enjoyed looking at all the knives!! Took a couple of knives that really didn't fit my collection, a 1981 Case 6254 and a '90's 5254 (not the prettiest stag) I thought a dealer might want to trade for Trappers, they seem to be quite collectible?? Anyway, wanted to trade 'em for a '71 Muskrat, but the fellow wanted $70 to boot. Super nice dealer from Memphis, had some beautiful older Case knives. He said he could only get around $60 apiece for them. I thought they might be worth close to $150 in a trade?? Anyway, wound up trading them for a mint '76 6383 Whittler, been wanting one of those, the Trappers might have been worth a little more, but I know a medium Whittler is a lot harder to find. I just wanted rid of the Trappers, I got rid of really the only post-1980 knives I had. I might could've gotten $120-130 for 'em on ebay. You're thoughts?? TIA
