NICE #26 - neat little pattern by GEC. Quite alot of knife in a nice tight package. ::nod::

I scored this from basser5 in the Thu auction for a song! Thanks bass!!
Plan to carry as a back-up fixed so I just gave it a real quick EDC tune-up. I used my Tri-hone to get
most of the extra material removed from near the tang, then took a jeweler's file to it and made a nice
notch between the tang and the cutting edge (no, I am not the one who filed the tang corners). Then I
went ahead and got her shaving sharp on the Smith's Tri-Hone since I had it out. This old Case fixed
blade has some pretty hard steel to it and took a really nice edge. Was able to get rid of 3/4 of the
scratches with 320 / 600 / Mothers Mag Polish, I did not spend very much time on this knife but I sure
like it. Them old Case Tested Greenbone handles are tough to beat!!

You can say that again, very nice! ::tu::

Here's my most recent arrivals; a 2011 red bone backpocket, a 2010 old red bone pocket-worn lock-back and a 2011 cayenne bone tuxedo, my first Case tuxedo.

Thanks guys......these arrived today also, got busy on that fixed and forgot about them for a minute.
2 more Elk #48 Trappers and a Schrade Abalone Automatic. This is the only GEC built Auto I have had
in my hands and it operates VERY easy and smooth, kinda hard to believe how good the action is on it.

Red - thats a nice group there, I especially like that Tuxedo.....looked at it 100X in the catalog, how is it in hand?
The Cayenne bone is the one I was eyeing too, great score! ::tu:: ::tu::

Excellent knives, rider! The little Tuxedo's are one of my favorites, too. Perfect little watch pocket knives. ::tu::
Hey Trevor, my brother has a gun shop down in Arkansas. He stocks quite a few knives to sell also. Mostly autos, A/O's and OTF's. He'd been looking at those Schrade autos and wondered about the quality. I'll tell him an expert I know, gives 'em a ::tu:: !
Nice scores, guys!

P.S. what's the model number on the Schrade?

WB - There is not a model stamped on the knife - there is a sticker applied to the box that says SUSA8.
I guess its for SchradeUSA2008.

Ok, thanks! I'm not sure what he was looking at when he was askin' me about 'em. Seems like he was talkin' about some models that were imports. I'll be sure he knows there are U.S. made ones. He only deals in high end guns and knives, so he wouldn't really be considering imports. But, like many, the Schrade name had him looking, none the less.

These aren't imports WB. They were built by GEC for Schrade. I believe that SharperDealz may
have had these run?? USA built knife as are all the Schrade Fire&Ice knives.

Yah, I knew yours wasn't Trevor. ::tu:: But, i'm thinking the ones he was looking at were. I don't know if he realized there were some that were U.S. made and maybe some that aren't. I'll be sure and let him know the next time I talk to him.

Thanks for the info, love that Abalone!

Nice ones guys!
Perry, those Rocket knives are pretty cool! Don't those have a noise maker in the end of 'em?
Trevor, those are great! Let's see, one for the collection, one for the pocket, one for the boat, one for the 4-wheeler and one in the glovebox. Unless you got a plane, i'd say you're pretty well set! :D
Tim, love that Weidmannsheil! Hard to go wrong with Stag and German steel! ::tu::

Trevor, the handles on your trappers are gorgeous.
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark
