Early Saturday evening and I don't want to go back to the shop and work so I thought I'd post some pictures. Haven't seen much in ivory stuff so I dug out a few pictures of some smaller knives I own that have ivory;bone;and faux ivory scales. If you look closely at the pictures you can determine which is which.Hope you enjoy.
As a side note: the first picture is of a couple of ivory folding toothpicks. The larger has six blades and a tortoise shell shield. The smaller is carved and sports two blades. The single pick and tweezers came with the smaller one.The other pictures have names in the titles. My favorites are the I*XL 3 blade with the shield dated 1870 and the Joseph Rodgers scissors with the ivory scales and tiny folding blade in each handle. Each side of the scissors is cut from one piece of stock with the only addition being a back spring.Mighty delicate work for something dated around 1880.Also the top knife in the 3rd picture(GMT)is actually a fruit knife with brass blades of which the master blade is shaped like a table knife and secondary blade is a citrus peeler.

Nice Ivories
It's getting hard to find now. I remember when I deceided to get an Ivory collection started I quit after a short time because there were to many other handle types that were easier to get. I still love it when I see some like your's. Thanks for showing them.
Here's the only Ivory I have. It's a Pre-Ban Case trapper IV254.
