swagger stick - dagger -i would like info on.

Post by tex6265 »

howdy, i think i have a swagger stick. it is 25 1/2 inches long with a wicked looking dagger blade. leather wrapped handle and leather sheath. the stitching looks to be english to me. there is a snap button on the handle. it looks like there was originally a strip of leather from the throat of the sheath to the handle. the handle also looks like it had a wrist thong for carrying that is also missing. very long thing 19 inch blade with no markings i can find. 11 inch blood groove. i would really appreciate any information i could get. thank you. tex in idaho

I had a couple of those that were very similar to yours that a friend brought back to me from Egypt.Supposedly they were riding crops used for camels.I think they were actually tourist items as the handles were busts of a black stone(not obsidian)carved in the shape of Neferiti's head.I think I still have them around somewhere;I'll see if I can dig them out and post pictures.

looks like a AK bayonete turned into a swagger stick...
lenght? close up of the blade at the mounting point to handle?

if egyptian, it could be an old french bayonete.
