In the midst of re-photographing my,"knife accumulation" I came to the drawer of automatic and wannabe automatic knives and decided to post a few pictures.
Most of these were acquired either from friends or police officers I've known through the years.Some are German;some Italian;and others of unknown lineage.There are some unique ones in the pile:A two blade Schrade that came to me from a friend who found it in his grandmother's sewing box after she passed away.He remembered her using it to cut thread and it came with a small chamois sheath as well as never having been sharpened and grooves worn into the scales from thread being dragged across them.
An Othello gravity knife given to me by a friend who found it inside a wall of the Salem(Massachusetts)Witch Museum when they were doing renovations.
A small gold pull ball switchblade marked Jewelry Cutlery & Novelty Co with file teeth cut into both sides of the blade.
A non automatic Italian style with two blades(a short stiletto blade and what looks like a short rope blade)and horn scales.
A huge horn scaled navaja style with brass bolsters,shotshell extractors on the front bolsters,and a top lock release.
A newer cigarette lighter with an OTF blade and a mini-Italian style with a ball point pen for a blade.
Blade types are spear point;clip,and even a couple keris style.Scales are horn;stag and even sheephorn as well as plastic.
So without further ado here are the pictures.It will take at least two posts to picture all of them.
