Maher & Grosh Catalogue

Post by stockman »

Does anyone know when the Maher and Grosh Catalogue #21 was originally printed. There is a reproduction of one in The Big Book Of Pocket Knives, by Ron Stewart and Roy Ritchie, I did not see a print date. Thanks for any help.

Sorry Stockman,
I can't help you, but I would like to get a copy of The Big Book Of Pocket Knives, by Ron Stewart and Roy Ritchie. I just checked Knife World & they said it was out of print. But a new edition is coming soon. ::dang::

If anyone has an extra copy they want to sell or trade, please let me know.

Thanks,
Dale

Hello Dale and Johnnie it is a good book with alot of pictures from old catalogues. They did not tell when the catalogue were printed so you can't tell the exact age of a knife.

Maer and Grosh Catalog

I have 2 original old Maher and Grosh catalogs and neither one has a date in it. I don't think they dated their catalogs. knife-nut

I have an M-G reprint catalog no. 36, with "ca 1900" printed on the first page by the publisher. A second section of the same work has catalog no. 49 "for the years 1929-30."
The work is "Encyclopedia of old Pocket Knives: Book 1 and 2" by Roy Ehrhardt (Heart of America Press, 1977).
This also contains a 1910-11 Bourne and Bond Guns and Sporting Goods Catalog (the knives are mostly by Miller Bros., some Jos. Rodgers & Sons and Wostenholm and Son) and selections from a "1934 Ka-Bar Brochure."
The book's final section is a Price Guide, for knife values of hundreds of brands for 1973.
