I haven't looked at any new Gerstners. If they are as good as the old ones I suppose it would be nice but due to my bargain hunting cheapness I think I'd rather have $500 in knives and hunt out an old wooden chest at the flea markets and auctions. I could always make my own as well.
I measure my collection by the ton.

Yeah they are pricey! I was looking on ebay and saw a few antique ones for a lot less. I like vintage there is more character. I checked out the Gerstner site and boy they are not cheap!

For $600, no thanks. ::td:: I just picked this one up at Harbor Freight for $85. It's very well made and looks good.

I looked at that chest at Harbor Freight and the one they had on display was falling apart, really changed my mind about it. I guess though that if you were mishandled as much as the display I looked at, you'd be falling apart too. ::facepalm::Does yours have drawer stops?

The drawers pull straight out if that's what you mean Tom. I was looking for one at the flea markets for awhile now but no luck. I didn't expect much from the ones at Harbor Freight but this one will do just fine as a knife chest. I didn't want to spend too much, I need the money to buy more knives.

Thanks Perry. Shipping is only $6 if you order one online.

Ive been looking at them online and they are pricey! The cheaper boxes which are imported I get mixed reviews about them. I just think it would be a cool thing to keep the knives in.

I bought the Harbor Freight chest a couple of years ago. Been real happy with it. If I was going to spend $600, it would be on another gun, not on a box!

I'm with you Bill. Great price and they are really nice for storing knives in style.
