Prayer request for my wife

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayer request for my wife

Post by orvet »

I would appreciate prayer for my wife as she has knee replacement surgery Monday.
Her name is Alyson. She is a bit apprehensive about the surgery, that is just her nature.

It has been a crazy week. Her car has been in the body shop all week because a snow plow backed into it last week. So I have been taxi driver all week.
This week the refrigator went out. We are waiting for the repairman next week with the part.
Today my computer got a virus and died.......it too is in the shop.

Too much crazy stuff! ::dang:: ::dang::

I will be helping her after she gets home, so I won't be on AAPK much especially not until I get my PC back. I don't like her PC with the split keyboard.
I will try to check in every day or two.

We sure appreciate all you folks' prayers for Alyson.

Thank you,
Dale

PS- Also remember Rich Stryker (cooker) as he goes to Sloan Kettering in NY this next week.
I just got an email from him & the chemo & radiation didn't so they are going to try bone marrow transplant. He needs our prayers too.

God bless you guys & thank you for your concern. ::tu::

Dale, Alyson as well as your family are in my prayers.
When it rains it pours (those old sayings were said for a reason). I hope you have a change of luck for the better.

All the things that have happened in your family this week were not surprises to God. Scripture tells us His grace is sufficient. Will be praying that your wife has a successful knee replacement and a speedy recovery. Treefarmer

Prayers sent Dale. I think your luck is about to change. My Mom said bad things happen in threes. I hope you can check in often.

May the Lord be by your side through out the entire surgery and recovery, Alyson & Dale.
Prayers also go up for Rich. I pray, God's Will, there will be a donor match and remission.

ps - It's good to get the bad luck out of the way so early in the new year! ::nod::

Thanks to all of you for your many prayers on Alyson's behalf.
The surgery went very well according to the Doc. Her knee was totally worn out.
She was up and standing about 4-5 hours after the surgery.
The nerve block is still partially working, but she is having some pain now.
I was there until about 10 PM, though she is groggy from the meds, she still managed to score a 24 point hand on me in cribbage! ::dang:: I managed to barely beat her 2 out of 3 games though. She will probably whollop me tomorrow.

Your prayers really helped, she was pretty fearful of the surgery, but came through with flying colors thanks to the many prayers!

I will try to update you all tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Dale

Update:
Alyson is home now. I brought her home this afternoon.
She is still having plenty of pain, but is making progress.

I think she starts Physical Therapy Monday.

Thanks again for all your prayers, they certainly helped! ::tu::

We appreciate your continued prayers.
The physical therapy was pretty hard on her today.
She is in a lot of pain this evening. She says it is the deep bone pain. Having had 3 artificial joints installed I understand what she means. Then they cut on your boned it gives you a deep down bone pain, almost to the core of your body.

Despite all the pain she is improving in her ability to walk and to get up and down by herself.
I have to do all the cooking and laundry, etc, so that keeps me pretty tired out.
I try to slip out to the shop for a few minutes now and then through the day.
I have been able to work on a couple knives, but I need to get a bunch more ready for the show next month.

We sure appreciate all the prayers.

God bless you all!

Prayers sent Dale.
Take some time for yourself, rest up and don't over do it. Right now you have to be the strong one, so you can't get played out.
Order some pizza or something, make some Ramen noodles or something. ::tu::

The Lord is sending strength for both of you, take it easy and stay strong.

Thanks Caleb, maybe that is why I slept half the day today.
I was sure tired, but I feel better today.

Alyson is doing better today and she has another day to recover before her next physical therapy appointment on Thursday. Pain management has been a big issue today.
