What's your favorite Auto???

Post by swede88 »

I waswondering what autos you guys like. I know the American auto are hard to come by. Has anyone here ever seen or used any Microtech switchblades. I beleive they are made in florida? I personally like the autos that come straight out & back in but have only see a few german military & cheapo Italian made ones, but have heard Microtech makes a couple nice ones.

Thanks, God Bless & Merry Christmas!~

good ones but not all of their stuff that comes out of that factory is that great. i've been hearing alot about their slipping quality control. you can see if you go to http://www.microholics.org/cgi-microhol ... nboard.cgi

as of now, they're really over priced along wiht a price raise coming or one that already came. also their customer service doesn't really like helping you. if you were to buy one and had a problem, it had to have been bought from a microtech authorized dealer. if not, its not their problem

8) CAlife is right on the money! Microtech knives are grossly over priced, you will find no bargain with their line of knives. Microtech knives are manufactured in Bradford Pa. If you want a good dependable Auto, trust me you can't go wrong with any of the Benchmade Models. I use a Reflex 9000 with a a 4 inch blade, I have had since the early 1990's. No problems here.

benchmade definately is a good choice. another company you should go with for autos would be protech. i've heard many good things about them against the many complaints against microtechs

No experience with Microtech, but I have a Pro-tech Godfather that I am pretty impressed with. It's quite menacing :D and seems very well made.

Benchmade's mini-reflex is my favorite auto. It's the only one I ever carry around. I'd pack the Godfather if I was expecting trouble though..

Autos are very cool...

Whiskers Allen, and an Arizonan named Ghostown, do some of the most beautiful and well-made automatics I've ever seen.

BUT, if I was expecting trouble...I'd take the CZ75, in whatever caliber, and a John Greco fixed blade.

No screwing around with a maybe misfire automatic.

JMO, of course.

Thanks for the great replies. I was looking for a good auto as an overseas pocket protector, but will have a Reeves 11 1/4" doulde edge & Bear damascus fighting knife, gerber comando 1 boot knife as backups to my .308 but thought all that gear might get me noticed on a quite evening on the town.
Does Benchmade make a straight out auto without a breakaway preasure point?

Thanks & God Bless!~

Don't worry Swede.....

You're gonna "Blend" right in.

I don't think Benchmade makes an OTF (out the front) as of yet...but, who knows?
