Nice guitar pics, guys. Don't get much more traditional than Gibson and Martin! You have inspired me to take some shots with my Larivee, but the Sitka spruce top is not as deep and beautiful as the two you fellows have posted.

Hell, we could have a jam session and trade knives between sets!!! ::tu:: ::ds:: ::rotflol:: ::rotflol::

I had a Yamaha FG 160 Jumbo back in the 70s. I wish I still had that guitar, it was one of the best soundin' axes I ever had. It was all hand made, before they got all automated. I like the deep rich tones of a jumbo. I wonder if the guy I sold it to was smart enough to hang on to it. :) Gibson makes some fine guitars, one of my buddies has a Country Gentleman. It's a thing of beauty. I still have an old Guild D 25 but it's kinda' long term loaned to a close friend. My Martin is a D 15 all mahogany. It has a nice ring and good projection, it's probably my all time favorite. ::nod::

Those are all the important things for sure! I just got mine back from being tweaked a little. The tone is perfect now, E to E. I don't want to talk about all the great guitars I have let go over the years. ::mdm::

Larivee is a good guitar and sitka is considered one of the best tops for an acoustic. I've never played one though. After all, the way a guitar looks is of secondary concern, the way it sounds is the really important part. I've always thought my Martin is a little on the ugly side as guitars go but she can sing with the prettiest. ::tu:: ::nod::

Yep, I have let too many go by the way because of cost of living, stupidity or wanting another.

Wearing Dickies work pants today, which is useful since the woods around the house are in the middle of a massive deer tick explosion. I mean it's just nuts. Took the dog out for a walk about the other day and came back with over 20 of the nasty little creepy things on my pant legs. Easy to spot on the tan pants.

Anyway, I'm wearing Dickies today so bulky knives don't carry well in the pocket. Today, it's the Buck 500, which is the best carrying knife that I have in this size range. Thin profile and rounded bolsters trumps length and weight for me.

Around the turn of the century, big parts of New Hampshire were logged off and the logs were pulled out of the woods using narrow gauge rail roads. Dry slash and spark spewing locomotives is a combustible combination. The fires that resulted help fuel the development of the USFS. Another part of the legacy left behind are old rail road beds that cut deep into Wilderness Areas - a super highway for cross country skiing. We didn't make it too deep in on Saturday. Been a rough snow year. But enough to hear the lonely sound of wind in wild trees.

Sitting on some rocks in a sheltered, sunny spot by the river, we talked knives. My buddy used to carry a 112 for such trips but found it too heavy. I do to. He was impressed with my 482. So am I. Really perfect backpacking pocket knife, imo. Perfect knife to be carrying on a beautiful day in the woods.

Beautiful Dave!

My son went back to college late this afternoon. We had a great time together while he was home on spring break. He loved my new chestnut bone Case Peanut and said it was definitely the knife for him. When I asked which one he wanted he said the yellow delrin CV. So here is a shot I snapped this afternoon before he left, of the Peanuts we each now carry daily.

Stole the guitar idea from a couple pages back. I tried to get a shot comparing the darker ebony of the fingerboard of my Larrivée guitar and the color variation of the ebony on my Tidioute White Owl. This is about as good as I can do with what I've got (equipment and skills).

Thanks. I adjusted the saturation of the picture a bit on photobucket to get it closer to what it actually looks like after posting here. I have edited the post, but it still seems to be showing the original, unedited picture. Maybe its my browser cache that isn't allowing me to see the newer pic.
