If that is a shell Barlow it sure pulls off a real looking one!
I have one that has REALLY shiny blades and fake black scales. It does do sharp however!

Gino
Nice barlow.
I dont have that one yet.
Singin
Great restore on that shell. History intact, and now a clean user or show piece.

Re: shell handled knives
Thanks guys!
Perry, I am surprised. I knew some of these were fairly rare, but didn't think there were many you hadn't seen (or owned) at one time or another.
Here's a few more.
The pen blade model is a carry over pattern from the pre-1936 Imperial line. (model #902)
If only I could still buy these for the $.50-$1.00 that I used to pay for 'em.

Thanks again guys! Perry, I ain't been dubbed king of nuthin' since prom night. And no, I wasn't voted prom king, but we won't go into that.
Joe, you may be right, that definetly looks like a Garcia knife if I ever seen one. Don't stare at it too long, it affects the mind.
That pinkish orange is cool, don't think i've seen that one and you got the little penknife to keep it company.

Re: shell handled knives
Here's the Hammer Brand "Lock-Bac" series (pattern No. 900).
These are all 5" knives and have an extra tab to secure the shell.
They can be found with or without the bottle opener.
The ones with the bottle opener have the 4 finger stamp while the
ones without have the regular post war stamp.
There NOT true liner locks - they have a "tab" that slips into the liner
while the "PRESS" end is secured by the pin. It wasn't a good locking method.
Often you will find them with the press tab missing.
On the 1952 catalog page below (from Schrades-R-Us site), notice the open knife
on the display card doesn't have the opener while the detailed knife in the ad does!
