Can anyone help date this Walden Knife?

Post by trutemper »

Hi, could use some help from you guys again. I recently aquired a Walden knife and I`m wondering about when it may have been made. The tang stamp on both frontside tangs are: "WALDEN" over "KNIFE CO." over "MADE IN USA"
The backside master blade tang stamp is: "4239 3/4"
The knife is 3 and 3/4 inches long with blades closed. Please see photos for reference. Thanks again for any help with this identification.

I believe i learned this on AAPK.In a past post someone said that a plain Walden stamp was
1923 or earlier as they went out of bussiness in 1923.

1870-1923, sold to E.C. Simmons in 1902.
Atleast that's what the book says.
