My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Hi all, Got another new one, Pic's not 100%, dont know whether it's me or
the camera. I've got a fair idea and it's not the camera.
Anyhow, this one's a Schrade Walden 832.
Not sure, but scales look like jigged delrin. ::shrug::
Any information would be good , always learning. ::suspense::
AussieBosun, Yeah, nice little anvil but didn't know it was chrome when I ordered it.
I've always used the anvil on the vise up till now.

garddogg,

The HGS-1 is a 152OT & 34OT and the HGS-8 is a 5OT & 807UH.

I don't know the years of manufacture but believe it to be sometime in the 80's.

Maybe someone will come along with that answer ::shrug::

Some of my 2012 finds to go into my collection.

The Blue Rope-cut Bone Handled ACB80 “# SS45” was well on its’way to be sold in 2004.
I do not know about the Stag Handled LB5 as I have never seen one before.
The 12UH Roadie with the Stag Handles, again I have never seen another like it.
The 152 is a “Guns & Ammo” knife.
The Black Handled PH2 was given to me by a friend that sold Schrade back in 1999.

Are you referring to the single blade slim jack with the peach seed bone handles; the first one Brady posted?

It is a Schrade Cut Co; 1946 or before. It was from the first Schrade company before Albert Baer bought Schrade Cut Co and renamed it Schrade Walden. It is probably in the E Catalog if you have a copy.

Sorry about Brady's knife. I know very little about Schrade before 1970.

Dale, the LB5 is the same knife as the one you have posted - with-out the button in the center of the stag.
The Roadie Look-a -like is also stamped LTD, it is not a Roadie. I have some of them in un-opend boxes.
I also has some Roadie knives with a quail etched blade.
There is no markings or numbers on that little knife that I can see.
Dose Herman always mark His work? or could this have been another knife made to sell in 2004 - It looks factory made.

Not sure if Herman Marked all of his work ,normally H-WILLIAMS followed by the year on the inside pileside liner and over the last couple of years pileside tang also. The thing I like about Herman, apart from being an absolute gentleman to deal with, is the way his customs come out looking better than factory. Here's a 206 i received i recently.......
