Bob W. wrote:"Jackmaster" seems like a legit brand name to me. Doesn't really matter who owns the brand.

I don't know of any Q brands other than Queen. Someone needs to post a fuzzy photo and call it a Quincy or something so we can continue...

I agree. I am sure I have a 'Quincy' around here somewhere ::nod:: . It is too dark for any photos though ::dang:: Please continue. :) s-k

There are a few brands that start with Q, but I don't have any.

Goins lists the following:
Q.E.D.,
Quackenbush Townsend Company, circa 1878, New York City
Quaker City Cut. Co., circa 1886-1935
Queen's Own Co., circa 1873-1877, a trademark used by N. Joseph
Quick Point St. Louis, circa 1928-1940, still in business today in Fenton, MO, specializing in advertising knives.
Quickcut Inc, Fremont Ohio, circa 1930-1950
A.T. Quinby & Son, Germany

And BRL #4 lists Queen's Cutlery Works, apparently a tang stamp of Mappin Brothers.

So everybody, dig deep in your collections, and see what you can find. Maybe S-K can help us out on this one, as it appears a couple of these were made in Britain.

Great Game,

Cheers to PA for bailing us out. Those are great knives ::tu:: . By my reckoning we are back on track. El Lobo posted T & U... after much deliberation, and a glass of wine, the judges accepted 'Ulu' :) s-k

. . . not that I'm the Q & R police, but I had a plan, see? I collect mostly CASE knives, with a few others thrown in, but I was waiting for the dang Q & R so I could post my R & S! I just got my first Remington last night, and I happen to have a SOG sitting around . . .

I've learned my lesson . . . if you want to win . . . CHEAT!

Nice knives, all!

I checked Gions' and there aren't many that start with X,
So if we count your x-rated, that leaves Y & Z.

How about these two?
A razor (do they count) called a Yakima Pointer. Bought by my Grandfather during the Depression when picking fruit in Yakima, WA.

The Zippo was given to my by my old Zippo Sales Rep.
Notice the tang stamp is Zippo.

This was fun for posting and looking.
I hope we do NOT try this backwards.

We all got to learn some things and show some differant knives that might not have been shown here.

I think WE are all winners thanks SK. ::tu::

after much deliberation, and a glass of wine, the judges accepted 'Ulu'
I think the judge may have indulged in too much wine. No one will admit to owning a "United" or "Ulster"? :)

There is only one brand I could find with X - Xikar. But I don't have one...

Good one with the Zippo knife!! I was going to use Zenith, but I didn't have a Y to go with it.

W's an easy one: Wenger, Western, etc.
V's even easier; everyone has a Victorinox.

Is there anyone who has the entire alphabet represented? The three letters I'm short in my collection are D, X, and Y. I could fix two of them by picking up a Diamond Edge and a Xikar. But finding a Y might be difficult.

Fun game!

Here's the Zenith I was going to use, but didn't have a Y. It's not much of a knife, but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to that end of the alphabet.
