Anybody else like GEC Cigars.....
By far my favorite frame.
I would love to have one of these in elk but I am picky. Some of the elk looks awesome and some just looks blah.

Nice! I like them with spearpoint main blades.

Mike, those look awesome.
I have a couple of the #53 frames and I really enjoy them, the frame is really nice to hold onto. I have a #54 Moose on the way, another equal end frame for the pocket.

Re: Anybody else like GEC Cigars.....
Here's one of my workin' knives that made me say "Oh Crap!!!".
I haven't broken a blade tip in years, but I managed to snap the tip off in a hard Douglas Fir 2x4 while doin' a little wood surgery the other day.
Dang it all! I work this knife hard and especially the wharncliffe blade. Nothing else to do but take him to the grinder.
Shorter and a little stronger for the ordeal:
All is well again!

Barry...
If you hadn't shown the before/after pic's I would have never known...great re-profile and this also happens to be one of my favorite carries.
garddogd...this would be Great Eastern's Furtaker, which come in a muskrat and trapper (shown above) pattern

Re: Anybody else like GEC Cigars.....
Thanks guys! The Furtaker Trapper is one of my fav carry patterns; great size and blade config for a carry knife! I never used a Wharncliffe blade until GEC started putting them out, but it is a super useful blade! I am a carpenter by trade and that straight blade comes in handy for everything from sharpening carpenter pencils to trimming up a saw cut. It is hands down my favorite work knife these days.

Great, useful patterns. One thing I really like about the Cuban Stockman is that the sheepsfoot doesn't ride high even though the nail nick is on the mark side.

Re: Anybody else like GEC Cigars.....
I like that as well. I thought I might like a 53 cattle rancher and got to see one this weekend at a knife show in GA. The sheepsfoot rides much higher in it and it positively had the stiffest springs I've ever seen in a GEC.One thing I really like about the Cuban Stockman is that the sheepsfoot doesn't ride high even though the nail nick is on the mark side
