Knife Question

Post by iMinkis »

Hey I am new to this website and did try to do some research before posting so pleae take it easy on me.

I have a Folding knife i got in a lot at auction and am having a hard time identifying it, i am afraid to clean where the name is because i know that for some knives Patina is a big contributor to collectilbility and or worth,

so if you guys can help me out in identifying it that will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the site, iMinkis!

The pic of the stamp is just a little blurry. Does that say "Falcon?"
Is the color of the bolster brass colored or silver colored? (the camera can play tricks)
It does appear to be a modern knife with a damascus steel blade.

I've got a camouflage knife, but I can't find it.......

welcome to club,
it is a blurry tang stamp. i have a sweet looking damascus falcon from italy. the stamp doesn't look like that one. it shows the head of a falcon and then the word falcon with italy under that.
but if by chance it is a falcon, mine has ox bone scales with a pearl cigar middle. it came with a velvet pouch and a hard hinged box. a very nice presentation. i got it from smkw about 7-8 yrs ago for only $25 or so. they aren't that expensive, but they sure look pretty, and well made.

mink, try and get a clearer picture of that tang stamp ::tu::

I believe i have just found the knife, i cleaned where the stamp is a bit and saw the word fox. soi put it into to google and came up with this http://www.bigskyknifeshop.com/fox-n-ho ... ket-knife/ which i believe is My knife...

I understand this knife is not very expensive at all, but will patina play a factor in Value later on, because i cleaned it off the stamp?

I think you'll be alright IMinkis, it'll patina back up in a while. Give it a year and you'll never know the difference.
