Date on a Wosteholm Real Lambsfoot Knife

Trying to get an idea of the age of this Wostenholm knife. Steel bolsters and liner. Has the "oil the joints" engraved. Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me about this knife!

I saw this earlier tonight, but based on this article, this knife dates between 1890 and post-1945 which doesn't narrow it down much. I have also read that the 'oil the joint' marking was used post-1930. So, I am guessing it is 1930-1945. I had assumed it might be a bit earlier because of the amount of wear and the patina.

That is a pattern that was in production for a very long time and dating English knives is very hard in most cases because trademarks and names were sold on as firms shut down. They didn't change the tang stamps when this happened either just kept on using and reproducing what they had. Patina and wear are not accurate indications of age. Sometimes they help but are not definitive.

I am not certain, but I am suspicious that the blade and frame did not start out together. I see it has had the pin replaced, and I have never seen a lambsfoot blade in a Barlow frame. But then again, there are a lot of things I haven't seen.

You're right about the blade being replaced. The joint where the blade meets the back spring tells the tail.

Looks like the blade pivot hole has the blade riding high when closed. Cool old knife.

Found this one while searching around.
It states it's brand new.
If so then a Wosteholm Barlow with Lambsfoot blade does exists.
