Case 523-5 1978 Red Etch

Post by Gunsmoke47 »

Hey all, I am trying to slowly complete my set of Red Etch, Blue Scroll and Razor Edge collections. All I am lacking are the fixed blades in each. I have acquired the Razor Edge and Blue Scroll in the 523-5 , but the Red Etch is proving to be difficult. If anybodys got a near mint with original sheath they want to sell, I'm all ears! :D Thanks, Kelley

I might have what you want, there was some case with red etch on the blades in a collection I bought, I'll have to dig them out to see if the numbers match those that you seek. They are all mint, new old stock inventory. If you need any mint sheaths let me know I had a bunch of new, never even folded over ones in that lot also, I'm not to familar with case so not sure on exact matches for your knives.
It will be a few days till I can get back to you, It's St Paddy's day this weekend and I'll be getin' me a little drunk on in Butte, MT Saturday, so I might not be able to read fine lettering on Sunday when I get back home :D

Have not found the red etch yet, did find a 523-5 but no etch, have found a blue scroll that reads as follows.
5254
SSP
on one blade
CASE XX
STAINLESS
USA
. . .
on other blade, its not a fixed, I have alot of boxs yet to dig in, and a few safes, not sure where the red etch got put, so I'll keep you posted as I dig.

Hey Jim, I thought you had it for a second there! The one you have is the 1979 Centinial Bradford knife. The fixed blade I need will look just like it except it will only have Case in red letters on the blade. Thanks again for your time and effort! Kelley
