Here is a cool old knife................stamped FR.V.D. KOHLEN Solingen (both blades).
Snaps good on corkscrew and secondary. Main has a little closing and OK opening snap.
It came in this very old looking knife case. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Very nice, kamagong!

Slanted bolsters, bit of a swayback w/wharnie main ... reminds me of the GEC easy pocket half congress …

kamagong - Is that a 3-1/4" 4935, made in 1991? Congratulations on finally finding it.

Thanks. I need to know what I'm searching for. I see in some of the completed auctions on eBay, sellers are claiming the handles are Rogers Bone. I have a couple of the Winchesters from that series/era and the handles look like that but they're Delrin (or some synthetic material). Since you have the knife in hand, what do you think?

No problem. I'm pretty sure it's bone. The seller indicated it as much, and I remember other sites also identifying the scale material as bone.

The best clue is in the scales. There's some minor chipping next to the bolsters. Don't see that with a delrin handled knife.

Kamagong & Jerry I saw a listing for a Winchester whittler on ebay sold by James Parker that states his father Jim Parker told him the owners of Blue Grass Cutlery bought the bone used on the Winchesters late 80s early 90s was purchased from the Utica Knife factory which dated it from 1910-1937. The knife sold for $102.50 plus shipping you can buy the knife new for $90 with free shipping I don't know how true the story is, but it did get a better price than they normally go for.

This thread is like the who's who of knives and those that collect them. Excellent knives guys!
Here's one my son brought up to me from a flea market down in Arkansas. Blades a bit worn, but operates perfectly. (he paid $17 w/tax  )

WB, he stole that Presto for that! I never see them here in Nashville. Or when I do they are thru the roof on price. Since it still works, I would clean it a little and good as new. Great find! ::tu:: ::tu::
