GREAT EASTERN HIDDEN GEMS
Closing of another year means one thing.......the coming months will bring the yearly production totals for 2011. So while we wait anxiously how about coming forward with those that haven't appeared in totals from prior years and maybe a few yet to be seen from last year. And if you have totals for your gem(s) what a plus..
Photos 1 and 2 ...#53 Coppertone Stockman 2007 production totals are 67 from the year but never differentiated s/n or n/s..here's an example of both
Photo 3...#73 Burnt Stag 2009 no production totals for a Burnt Stag, long pull, end cap with satin blades 1 of 4
Photo 4...#72 Copper Melt 2010 production totals are 47 s/n...this one is s/n 40 with an example of GEC factory engraving 1 of 1
Photo 5...#33 Genuine Red Stag 2011...yearly production totals not out yet but to my knowledge 1 of 2

Never cease to amaze me with your stash Jim
I like the bark on PB's but sure wish they'd do some of the new stuff smooth like those,GREAT COLOR,real beauties.
Is the edge of the PB beveled on the lower knife or just angle of pic.?

Monk.....
I was waiting to see those again...and the factory error etch..just to cool.....but I thought you also had a Conductor in Mammoth too....
And I think it might be the angle of the #23 in the picture...both are factory sharpened

My bad Jim,I was asking about the edge of the Primitive bone itself. I had read somewhere I thought, that some of the early bone handled knives the edges of the handles were beveled/angled as opposed to rounded. Again, I thought I read where it was attributed to whoever finished the knife not something that was typical to every knife. I'm probably wrong but in the pic that bottom knife looks like the edge of the PB itself is beveled.

Hey Monk, that Court House Whittler is a neat pattern, kind of a cross between a Whittler and a Congress.

Earl...
I see what you're saying about the edge.....it's definitely the angle since the edges are rounded on the handle....and I too remember the bevel being discussed previously in a post..probably something to it

I had a Bark Moss Green Bone when they first came out in 2006 that I bought from Bill at CumberlandKnifeWorks.
Sold it a few years ago though. Made some money on it for sure because of what you guys already know, only 6 exist. I like that Northfield too Monk!
